With financial support from UNICEF, ESMI advanced a comprehensive school feeding systems-strengthening initiative in Dire Dawa.
The initiative supported legal frameworks, financing mechanisms, smart kitchen infrastructure, smart farming, food safety, community participation, and local food-system development.
The Dire Dawa model demonstrates that sustainable school feeding is possible when policy, infrastructure, agriculture, nutrition, and community ownership work together.
